A lack of capital for promising validation-stage startup companies is causing Arkansas to miss growth opportunities. The Validation Fund is helping to close this gap, helping the state build a sustainable knowledge-based economy
Future proceeds from the investments will be returned to the fund for reinvestment. No investor, fund manager, business, or individual will receive a financial benefit or hold a carried interest in companies.
Awards for the Validation Fund will be made by an award investment committee comprised of two managers and three committee members. The fund leverages existing Winrock entrepreneurial support programs in Arkansas, such as Innovate Arkansas and the Delta Innovation Fund (I-Fund), to provide necessary technical assistance and counseling to companies seeking Validation Fund investment.
